The driver recruitment industry has a poor reputation and much of this perception is due to the lack of knowledge the agency consultants have of the logistics industry. In response to this HGV Work Limited has developed a unique training module designed to give the driver recruiter the knowledge they will need to keep themselves, their drivers and clients legal.

Driver Recruitment Legislation Training

This one day Driver Recruitment Legislation course is designed to give the Driver Recruiter at all levels a working understanding of the legislation involved in providing temporary drivers. For a new starter to the industry this training is essential to ensure they have enough knowledge to place drivers on assignment legally. For an experienced consultant this course provides up to date information on rules and regulations vital to remain compliant.

The Regulations

The morning session covers basic employment law and the different types of employment contracts, including working with an Umbrella Company.

We then study The Employment Agencies Act 1973 through to the Agency Conduct Regulations 2003, and the Agency Workers Regulations 2010.

Finally we look at Compliance, Finance, Making a Profit and Sales and Marketing.

Drivers Rules

During the afternoon session the delegates are given expert guidance on the EU Drivers Rules, Working Time Directive, Driver Licencing, Infringement Management and an insight into the rules surrounding Operator Licencing.

The Test

The final part of the day involves 3 practical exams putting this knowledge to the test at CPC Road Haulage level.

Candidates will plan a drivers schedule, find 10 illegalities in a driver’s weekly schedule and answer 30 multiple choice questions on EU and Domestic Drivers Hours and The Working Time Directive.
